We are going after a trophy
bass,
at Lake Fork, but it is NOT really about fishing. Some people fish all
their lives and never realize that it is not about catching fish. It is about dozens of other more important
things that are hidden in the guise of going fishing.

Fishing with Lake Fork
Guide Micheal Rogge--the Lake Fork expert.
It is about
communing with nature
Thinker-philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson secluded himself for a couple of years and wrote the famous book
On Waldon Pond. During that period he lived simply and reflected on the true meaning of life. He discovered that the only way to live is to
live simply, without the gadgets and interruptions of modern life, without noise and busyness, close to nature. He learned that happiness comes from
the inside and not by the acquisition of things. By being out on Lake Fork you will learn about the beauty of nature and the joy of simple living.
There is a magical serenity that comes from seeing the clear water, verdant trees, abundant fish, numerous birds and blue sky. You can return
to the pristine environment of Lake Fork and gain a new appreciation for the simple pleasures of life by going on a fishing trip. Nature is a
wonderful teacher. Just be still and allow the beauty of nature to reveal the true meaning of life.
Professional Lake Fork
Guide Micheal Rogge knows what's important.
It is about
taking your children fishing with you
In the blink of an eye your children will be grow and have their own lives. Your baby daughter will marry. Your small son will begin a life of
his own. Only too soon they will fly from the nest. Now is the time to create some special memories just between you and your children, memories
that will last a life time, experiences they and you will cherish as long as you live. Helping your son or daughter bait a hook, watching their
surprise and excitement of catching a fish, truly listening to them without TV blaring in the background, spending the day together—it is all
a treasure trove experience, far greater than you can possibly know. I promise you they will bring up the fishing trip repeatedly over the years
and it will stay vividly etched in their memories forever. It may well be one of the most fateful things you have ever done with them.
Lake Fork Guide
Micheal Rogge makes it fun.
It is about renewing friendships
and building lasting relationships
An important benefit for me is that I get to make a new, life-long friend—you. I will learn from you just as you learn from me and the
experiences on the lake. Actually you learn from everyone, sometimes positive messages and sometimes negative ones. That is why it is so
important to choose your friends and your environment carefully. They have a powerful impact on your life, your values, your aspirations, your goals,
etc. Bring a friend or client along and develop a closeness and rapport that could never be built in a business setting. When you come right down
to it, business is all about friendships and a fishing trip is the best way I know to build lasting relationships.
Lake Fork Guide
Micheal Rogge is a nice guy.
It is about
how to succeed in sales or business
If you are in sales (and everyone is) making 100’s of casts teaches you persistence, to keep plugging, that you can’t catch fish with your
bait out of water and you can’t make sales without prospecting. The more casts you make, the more fish you catch. Tell your employees that you had
a powerful sales training seminar at the lake. Tell them that whether you are bass fishing or making sales, it takes persistence,
determination and a 100% effort to succeed. (now you can write off your trip as an educational seminar--joke)
It is about discovering what is real
If you are like most people, you are living in an antiseptic
environment of cement boxes (office buildings), glass separating you from
the real world, asphalt trails (roads), stop lights, faxes, cell phones,
commuting, traffic, deadlines and ToDo lists. All you see are piles of
paper, cars, parking lots, billboards and shopping centers with neatly
manicured foliage. You are in an artificial environment that stifles your
humanity and personal growth. Your experience with me at Lake Fork will
refresh you and get you back in touch with what really matters—living a
simple life close to nature, friends, family and the simple joys of life.
You will rediscover what is real.
It is about rock
seeing
There is a metaphysical experience called “rock seeing” where a person
is encouraged to take a long hike without first eating. After an hour or
more of walking, you pick up a rock and stare at it with your problems in
mind. You keep staring at it until insights and solutions come to mind. It
is the slight exhaustion, the physical exertion and the simple
surroundings of nature that lead to clarity of thinking and new insights.
A day on the lake is a bit exhausting. After your fishing trip, expect
some new insights into life, living and solving your problems It will
teach you to slow down to the speed of life, to respect nature, to see
with fresh eyes the beauty of trees, the lake, birds, fresh air and
animals. It can be your personal epiphany.
It is about compassion
and empathy
You also learn that although fishing to you is a fun adventure, to the
fish it is a life and death struggle for freedom. Because of the slot rule
at Lake Fork, most of the fish will be returned to the lake. That will
give you an appreciation for other living creatures and for other people
in general. You will learn that all living creatures struggle with their
own unique problems. You will become a better person, more compassionate,
more patient, more loving, trusting and happy. Yes the trip is about
catching big bass and Lake Fork is the Mecca of monster bass, but even if you don’t
haul in a lunker, you will be richly rewarded,
renewed, refreshed, invigorated and ready to face the new challenges of
competitive business. All these amazing benefits come from this fishing
trip. Come with me and experience nature, renew your compassion and slow
down to the speed of life.
It is a learning
experience
Don’t expect me to talk much or philosophize about life. I communicate
best when my lips are closed. I want the experience to wash over you. I
want you to listen and look and experience what this trip is really all
about. If you went to Alaska on a wilderness trip, you wouldn’t want the
guide to be talking. You want to be experiencing the moment, the mountains
and nature. This is the way I conduct fishing trips. I let nature do the
talking and you do the listening. There is an old proverb “when the
student is ready, the teacher appears.” The teacher is nature and being on
the lake. You are the student. The simple truth is that everything you
need to know you already know, inside you, if you will just be still and
listen. Come expecting a rebirth of your spirit. Leave your problems in
the city and put your mind in neutral. When you return, you will
experience new insights from your subconscious mind and your experience
with nature. It is nothing short of magic.
It is your own
Mount Everest experience
Some people travel across the world to climb Mount Everest, only later
to realize that it wasn’t necessary, that it wasn’t about climbing a
mountain at all, and that they could have come to the same insights
without risking their lives, by simply going fishing. Let this fun and
relaxing fishing trip at Lake Fork be your Mount Everest experience.
Discover what is inside you. Discover nature. Discover simplicity.
Discover what truly matters in life. Discover your children. Build a
lasting relationship with a client or group of employees that will mean
much more than any raise, fancy office or reserved parking spot. It is so
much more than just catching fish. Come with me and discover what is
really important in life. |
