
Lake Fork reservoir is located approximately 5 miles West of Quitman and about 1 1/2 hours drive or 90 miles East of Dallas, Texas. When full, the lake covers 27,690 acres of vegetation and timber. The lake was opened for fishing in the fall of 1980 and has since gained the reputation as the #1 trophy bass lake in Texas. The lake has become world famous for producing lunkers with 37 of the top 50 big bass in the state of Texas, including the top six bass ranging from 17.08 to the current state record of 18.18 pounds. |
